Koru Strategies is a woman owned small business focused on the needs of technology and professional services firms. Koru Strategies was formed in 2020 with the clear vision of helping improve the business of government through strategic communications, marketing, and business development advisory services by addressing the personalized needs of each of our clients.
Rebecca is driven to improve the business of government through innovation, enhanced communication, and collaboration. Rebecca has twenty years of experience, including consulting at a leading professional services firm, managing government technology education events and strategic workshop delivery, and project management and execution. She is a self-proclaimed “gov geek” and “people connector” whose goal is to communicate the value of technology and how pivotal it is to drive the business of government.
Prior to launching Koru Strategies, Rebecca served as the Media Services Director and unofficial “Chief Technology Translator (CTT)” for Los Angeles County’s Internal Services Department (ISD), the operational IT services provider for the County’s 37 departments. Prior to joining ISD, Rebecca worked as a National Conference Director for e.Republic’s Government Technology division, an events, media, and research company focused exclusively on state and local government technology and education development. In her five years there, she was responsible for acting as a government and industry liaison for events focused on employee and business development in 11 states, including the State of California. She worked with government and industry technology and innovation leaders and elected and appointed officials in each jurisdiction, leading event planning meetings, developing event agendas aligned with government priorities, securing speakers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of each event. At Deloitte Consulting Rebecca worked on state and local government projects in the US and Canada with a focus on leading change management and training efforts.
Rebecca is an adjunct professor in the College of Business at California State University Sacramento and serves as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) advocating for in foster care to ensure they get the support and services they need and deserve.
Rebecca holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from California State University Sacramento, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
